Hey it's Bauer, and this is the D-Link Internet Photo Frame,
this is where they're going, you know last year, the photo frames were
sort of the big holiday gift, everybody wanted one of these things,
and now there starting to take that next step to being
even more user-friendly and being really, really cool,
and really getting far beyond being just a simple photo frame.
I mean really, when you think of a digital picture frame,
you think of an LCD screen, like this, that has an SD card reader
somewhere on it, and to look at the pictures, you put the pictures
on the card, you stick it in the frame, and it plays a slide show.
And when you want to change them, you take the card out, and you go somewhere,
and you load it up, and you bring it back, and you stick it back in. They're going
so far beyond that now, and this is a great example
of where these picture frames are going. This is a 10 inch screen,
its got 800 by 480 resolution, extraordinarily vibrant color,
extraordinarily high resolution, looks absolutely fantastic,
and really, what makes this a little bit special, is it has Wi-Fi
built in. So it can be controlled over the internet, and over your home network.
It does have touch activated controls, right down here. As you can see,
when I touch the bottom, you can see these light up.
These are actually used to navigate through your various photos on the frame,
and they light up when you touch it, and they disappear into the bezel,
when you're not using them. Most of the control is done with this remote,
right here, which allows you to get into the menu system
and navigate around inside of this. Now let me show you some of the stuff
that this thing can do that is not just picture frame stuff.
As you can see, you can browse through all of your photos individually,
if you want to, but what's really cool here, now, home network, what this will allow
you to do, is browse photos on your computers or on your NOS,
any UPnP enable device, in fact it comes with the software,
so that it will load up photos off of your computer, off of your NOS,
and it's very easy to do. Off the internet, however,
check this out, I set up an account,
and it's very easy to set up an account with this;
it simply gives you a pin code, you go online, you give it your email address,
and you give it your pin code, and it sets up an account for you.
And what it does, is it actually allows you to get to all of this.
You can actually display RSS feeds, inside of this frame, so now we're not
looking at pictures only, we're looking at news,
and we're looking at weather, and we're looking at sports scores,
and it's all incredibly easy to set up, it's all done
through a web interface so that you can set it up
and use it from wherever you are, whenver you want to use it.
So, let's say you get one of these frames for a family member, like mom, or dad,
or grandpa, or grandma, or Aunt Lacey, just you can give them the frame,
you can set up the account, and then you can send them pictures,
you can take photos, you can upload them directly
to their frame and you can control what photos are on their frame,
and you can control what photos they see, which is really, really cool, especially
if you want to give this to your non-technology minded
friends and family, because then they can sort of enjoy it without
really having to interact with it at all. Also, you can set up feeds from various services,
like flickr, like photobucket, as you can see, you can even
display your facebook photos, right here. You set it up
to use your facebook account, and it will actually display,
all of the photos on your facebook account right here in the frame.
And it's so easy to switch between all of them as well, which makes it really,
really convenient. In fact, let me show you how simple it is.
This is actually the interface, when you log on, take a look at this laptop here.
When you log on, you'll actually see a very, very...that's the screen that you see
when you log on. And these all the various channels we were just
looking at, as you can see, you can see the face book,
you can see the flickr, and you just click on
whichever one it is, and you can configure
which pictures to use. Right here, under my photos,
you can actually upload photos directly to that, so you
don't have to set up feeds, you don't have to set up a flickr account,
you can upload them directly to the website, and then you are able to see them
on the frame. You can share different friend's account's pictures,
and then of course you can set up all of your various feeds from flickr,
from piczo, from facebook, from photobucket, from all
the various services, and then also set up things
like sports scores, horoscopes, weather, and they'll all be shown
on the screen, on your ten inch D-Link photo frame.
So this is really an extension of the internet, right here,
this new frame from D-Link, and it just looks really good,
and it's so simple to set up, I mean, it's completely mindless,
which is really, really nice, it will work on protected networks,
it does have WPS built into it, to make getting on to a protected network
very, very easy. It has one gigabyte of memory built into it, so you can transfer
one gigabyte of files to the frame, without even having to use an SD card.
It does have a three-in-one card reader on the side. If you look at the side here,
right there, your three-in-one card reader, also, it has a USB port, which you can
plug a USB memory stick into, and it will read the photos off of that as well.
On the back, it does have an ethernet port, in case you want to plug this thing in directly
to a network, and you power plug, is located right here.
And the frame can also be rotated from landscape to potrait as well.
As you can see, right there. Right here on the back is where that
rotating stand is, and the frame can also be hung on a wall.
It does have mounting points on the back, so that if you'd like
to hang it somewhere, it can be hung.
On the top is where you're going to find the on/off switch,
right here, and this is your WPS button, which will allow you to use it with a WPS enabled
router, so that it's extraordinarily secure, you don't have to worry about anybody
hacking your frame, and getting all of your naughty pictures off of it.
It does have motion detection, built in as well.
These sensors is down here, one of these is an infrared sensor,
one of these is a motion sensor, so it will detect motion, and turn itself on,
so it will actually save power, so when you're in a room somewhere,
and nobody is home, it's not sitting there draining juice, but once it recognizes
that somebody is moving around in the room, it will come to life,
and show off all of the pictures. It's a very, very nice package.
It's extraordinarily well designed, because you see it's very nice that these
buttons disappear into the bezel when you're not using them.
It's very nice you can control them all from the remote,
and it's all really, really super easy to do, all managed through the web,
all managed through the online component of this thing. It does
come with software too, the software that comes with it
works really, really well as well, for managing the internal memory,
and putting photos on it, but the real magic and the real power
in this frame is its ability to be setup and configured over the web
so that you can actually manage it from anywhere you want to,
and it makes it really, really easy to upload those pictures.
Now you don't have to upload pictures to your frame separately,
you can just put them on your facebook account, and boom,
they're right there on your frame. So, go have a look at this,
and if you're thinking of getting one of these things as a gift
for somebody, or maybe you're thinking of getting one for yourself,
this is a really great looking frame, and it's got a lot of possibilities
that are going to go far, far beyond any of the other lesser, non-connective,
non-wired frames that are out there. It's the D-Link ten inch photo frame,
go have a look, see it.
