Hi my name is Dr. Steve Minors of Rehab Effects in Austin, Texas and today we are going to
be discussing the applications of electrotherapy. We are going to perform electrical stimulation
to the elbow maybe if the patient has tennis elbow, they have that complaint or in some
cases the patient will have a bad elbow from a sports injury or even carpal tunnel can
cause some elbow pain. What we do is come up here to the screen, press electrotherapy
and there are various kinds of electrotherapy which were discussed in a previous segment
of electrotherapy. For her we are going to use high volt galvanic stem and it will go
for approximately 15 minutes. We are going to do a cycle time of 55 and do pumping action
to get some of that pumping action out of there. We are going to bring the patient up
to where they are comfortable and do that and at that point we press start and the patient
is going to be there for about 15 minutes where it will cycle up for about 5 seconds
and then it will cycle down for about 5 seconds.
