Valley Yarns Northfield

Northfield has
you know, a pretty diverse little blend of fibers,
and the Valley is pretty diverse and you get that wonderful palette
that really relates to the colors we find in nature here,
the rich jewel tones, the warm colors that you'll see
in fall in New England. It's just one of the most versatile yarns we have in the Valley Yarns
line. The first time I worked with Northfield was actually when we first
introduced the hand dyed colors that the Kangaroo Dyer, Gail Callahan did for us,
and I worked it together with quite a few of our solid Northfield colors
in the Amethyst Brook Afghan. It's seventy percent merino wool, 20 percent baby
alpaca
and 10 percent silk. With the merino you get this great bounce
and squish and warmth. The baby alpaca makes it so soft and gives it the
subtlest little halo and then the silk
imparts this incredible shine to the whole deal.
