Hi.
I'm Joris Evers, part of the corporate communications team here at Netflix.
I often get asked, why the TV shows and movies on Netflix are different from
region to region.
It is all about location, popularity, and purchasing rights.
Programming on Netflix is different from region to region,
because of how TV shows and movies are licensed.
Organizations that own the rights to those shows license
the rights by geography.
So this means that we have to acquire rights on a territory
by territory basis.
And that's why what you watch on Netflix in Brazil is different from what you see
in Sweden or the United States.
We program Netflix for our members in each region by purchasing the rights to
TV shows and movies based on detailed research into what our members really
love to watch.
Regardless of where you live, there is something for everybody on Netflix.
Like new releases, hit TV shows, classic films, and exclusive Netflix originals,
such as "Lilyhammer" and "House of Cards." So keep watching and we'll keep
adding more of what you want.
