North Korea has posted a disturbing video on it's official YouTube channel.
The video shows images of a city in the United States set ablaze with missiles in a scene
reminiscent of the 9/11 terrorist attacks in New York.
Yoo Li-an reports.
It begins rather peacefully with a young North Korean man sleeping to a soothing musical
backdrop of a piano version of the famous pop song "We Are the World."
The YouTube video posted last weekend by North Korea's official Website Uriminzokkiri then
shows the man dreaming of going aboard a rocket and blasting off into space.
The space shuttle orbits earth showing an image of a crowd cheering at the news of a
unified Korea.
But the video soon takes a dark turn when it shows missiles bombarding a city scape
resembling Manhattan.
The text reads "the headquarters of evil is going up in flames it itself has ignited."
The three-and-a half minute video comes to an end with the young man saying his dream
will surely come true.
The video was recieved over 60-thousand views as of late Tuesday before it was taken down
by YouTube.
The former U.S. Ambassador to the U.N. John Bolton told Fox News that the video is another
"disturbing reminder" of what a nuclear-capable North Korea would mean to the world.
U.S. State Department Spokesperson Victoria Nuland said she would not dignify the video
with a response.
The latest propaganda assault comes as North Korea steps up its rhetoric against South
Korea and the U.S. after suffering from Washington-led sanctions following its widely-condemned rocket
launch in December.
