Do you want me to say my name and everything? Sure. Ok. Hi, I’m Brenda Ortiz, I work with
TMF Health Quality Institute. We’re the Medicare quality improvement organization
for Texas. And we have been very pleased with the materials from, uh, the National Kidney
Disease Education Program. We use the materials with both our clinicians and our patients.
We are really working with primary care staff to um, uh, update them on kidney disease and
diabetes and-and promote early detection of the disease. And so, we use the GFR pads,
or the How Well Are Your Kidneys Working, um, pads, um, for the staff to use with the
patients because we really like that is has both tests used. Uh, both tests; the GFR and
the urine microalbumin testing information. And then we use the educational patient brochures
for clinicians and also with community partners so that patients are made aware that they
are at-risk for kidney disease. So we just love the materials from the NKDEP, we use
them consistently, and we just recommended them to everyone that’s out there looking
to promote CKD education.
