I did it again everyone!
Jaystepher has made another mosaic.
This one turned out a lot better than my last one. So let's just take a peak here.
It doesn't look like much yet.
Still not like much.
Now it's starting to look like something.
And it looks like a face. Of course it's my face if some of you have seen me in my live chat.
And it looks like a face. Of course it's my face if some of you have seen me in my live chat.
I built this in two and a half hours in my live room.
I built this in two and a half hours in my live room.
This was very fun to do.
I used black, dark grey, light grey, and white.
And this is my second mosaic, and this one turned out really well.
This is on a 48 by 48 stud base plate.

Just to show you it's Lego and this is all smooth tiles.
So if I put it like this, it just looks smooth.
You can just see that when you're up close,
it doesn't look like anything until you get far back.
So if you're really close to your monitor,
it's not going to look like much until you stand far back,
and it actually looks like a face.
Yes I'm actually there smiling,
and this stuff here is actually shadows.
So I'm getting better at mosaics. I'm probably going to start adventuring into color.
So I'm getting better at mosaics. I'm probably going to start adventuring into color.
And color images are a lot more difficult. Because black-and-white I can actually store more.
But if I do color, I'm going to have to use bigger base plates.
This is my second attempt and I'm really happy.
This one turned out better than the first one
of me wearing the beanie cap.
After I did this image,
I've been getting flooded with request about making mosaics.
So once I get a little better,
get more supplies, I might make them, and
you know, just for my friends and stuff.
you know, just for my friends and stuff.
Just for them to see that "hey I actually did this."
So I've also got a lot of requests on maybe making scenic images.
You know, stuff that's actually color.
My best way to start these off if you're planning on doing mosaics
is to do black-and-white. It's a lot better.
This is a lot easier. Start off with maybe QR codes first.
Maybe a simple logo and work your way up.
Because this I messed up so many times. I messed up here a few times.
Because this I messed up so many times. I messed up here a few times.
I think I messed up here where the eye's at.
A lot of this stuff, and some of these tiles now are starting to pop out.

But all-in-all, this was a great project.
I think everybody should try to do at least a small mosaic.
I think everybody should try to do at least a small mosaic.
I wouldn't go any thing smaller than a 16 by 16.
This is 48 by 48 and you can see it's still a little pixelated,
but it turned out a little better.
But a great great project.
You can do this out of any kind of ...
You can do this out of any kind of ...
either tile or brick or even plates.
I think it looks better with tile. It just feels more like a mosaic.
And of course mosaics are suppose to be smaller pieces but I didn't have a lot of small pieces.
I think honestly, in my opinion, this is one of my best yet.
So we'll see how this goes with these mosaic projects.
Thank you for watching!
