My son Clayton and I went out for dinner the other night and I asked him to pick whatever
restaurant he wanted to go to. He said he was in the mood for some roast beef and he
decided we should go to Lion’s Choice.
As we were walking in the building, there was a beautifully designed sign on the glass
door that said, “Follow Louie on Twitter & Facebook.” I was left to assume that Louie
the Lion is their mascot. I was also left to assume why I should follow him on Twitter
and Facebook. Do you know why?
It’s simple. They gave me no reason to follow Louie. As much as I like the roast beef sandwiches
they sell, I have no idea why I should take my time to do that. Their marketing people
forgot to let me know what was in it for me and until they tell me the benefits I will
receive if I do, I won’t be following them on Twitter or Facebook. Don’t make the same
mistake.
