bjbj t Quit Cold Turkey Hi, I m Doug Smoot and I wanted to talk to you a little bit about
quitting cold turkey today. I am not an advocate of quitting cold turkey and I have a lot of
reasons why, but I just want to go into a couple of them in this video. The idea that
you are not going to put the cigarette in your mouth, draw the smoke in anymore, I understand
that and that s great, you really want to be free. You quit cold turkey and that s what
you re doing. You re not going to smoke anymore. Great. But there s a lot more to the smoking
habit than just smoking. Something you re going to have to face that first day, right
out of the box, will be the loss of your closest companion that you ve had for all the years
that you smoked. For some of us, that goes back into our teen years. This is the same
companion that grew up with us. That s tough. It s tougher than we think before it happens.
Think about it, when something really great happened if you started when you were a teenager
and you got your first job before you could call anybody and tell anybody, your cigarette
was there to go alright and agreed with you; it was part of it. When you maybe lost that
first job or your first date went bad or some experience, your cigarette was there to go
Oh, you re okay, and it was there to console you. It was alongside of you. It s what you
grew to depend on as a companion when the world let you down. Your cigarette was still
there. I know it sounds silly but it s very true. You re going to face the loss of a companion,
a close companion. And there s a grieving process, there s a way to go through that.
And just stopping all of a sudden, you can do that but let s add the nicotine thing to
it too. If you ve been taking in anywhere between 10-20 milligrams of nicotine a day,
and you go to zero, that s a big deal, and your body is going to let you know that first
day, and you know what your best friend isn t going to be there to comfort you because
you gave that up too. That s why for me quitting cold turkey was a very short term miserable
part of my life every time I d ever try. It didn t last a whole day. s just outrageous.
Some people maybe can do that, I can t. But there are other issues too that I won t go
into now, but this is just my opinion that quitting cold turkey is just not a successful
way to do it. If you re going to quit smoking, you need a thought out plan that s going to
work so you don t have to try it 8 times. You do it once and for all. For more information,
swing on by thequitsmokingplan.com that s thequitsmokingplan.com, and you can get a
free video series there that will give you everything you need to know to quit intelligently,
with a plan that you come up with, that s thought out to deal with nicotine, and habit,
and all the issues of it. Take me up on my offer. I d love to see you there and I look
forward to talking to you soon. Bye. Page PAGE of NUMPAGES ~p~p gdE|+ hE|+ ht7K h#;Z
