Hi youtube viewers
As I said in the last video
The transgender interview with my mom is completed
So I am going to start reading them
The first question is
When was the first time you heard the term transgender?
I first heard the term about 10 years ago on Japanese Television.
Number 2
When I first came out, was it hard to accept your own son is transgender?
I was able to accept him right away. Ever since Jesse was young, he acted like a boy
and was boyish so when he transitioned to male it felt normal to me.
Number 3
Were you afraid of what other people/friends and family would think?
Yes I was afraid, but I felt very lucky after noticing that everyone around me were very
open and kindly accepting the situation. I was very relieved.
Number 4
Was it difficult to understand what transgender is and its meanings?
On TV they explained it very well that I was able to understand the meaning clearly.
Number 5
Have you heard of the term X gender?
No, I have never heard of it
Number 6
Tell me about adjusting to pronouns, was it difficult (espically in English conversation)?
The usual conversation was in Japanese so it wasnt a hard adjustment at all.
Number 7
What was it like for your own son to go through a major surgery?
I am his mother so any kind of surgeries he goes through is worrisome but, Its for him
to because himself so of course i support him in that aspect.
Number 8
Do you think there could have been a transgender person in our family in the past?
I am no sure, but there is a possibility.
Number 9
What do you think about the term GID (Gender Identity Disorder)?
The word disorder in GID bothers me a bit. I think that its only a way to live as yourself.
Number 10
Do you think transgender- related surgeries should be cosmetic or covered by medical insurance?
If you are diagnosed by a doctor that you have GID then I think the surgeries should
be covered by insurance. Unless the price of the surgeries increases, its a huge
burden on the people having to pay for it.
Number 11
What do you think about the LGBT movement in Japan? Compared to overseas?
Ive never been Involved in it so I am not sure.
This is all for now
This week I will be making a part two very soon
All
the questions are the ones my mom answered
Thats all for now
Thanks for listening
See you
