Hi everyone!
Today is one of those days all you have in mind is "I don't want to wear makeup."
Maybe it doesn't happen to you, but it happens quite often to me.
Especially after this packed, filled with events and fashion weeks month. [Click here and go straight to the "charming blend".]
Now I'm back home and here I plan to stay.
This is the less frequent part of the business.
I was really into going for a detox, but I also had a video to record.
How do I deal with this dilemma?
Please don't mind my face, I'm still recovering.
So I decided to— oh yeah, and also,
the video needs to be interesting, otherwise there's no point in recording it, right?
Not even sure if it will be that interesting, but that got me thinking.
Anyway, what's up: this will be a daytime makeup.
Because I believe you lean towards a lighter result
when you're not exactly in the mood for putting on makeup.
Lighten up this awfully tired face with blush, bronzer and highlighter. And a light foundation too.
This messed up desk is an entirely different problem too.
I only have my go-to products here at the moment,
the rest is buried under a pile of other stuff, poor things.
I decided to go for a daytime lighter blended eye using Naked 2,
which I haven't used in a long while.
And also because I didn't want something with eyeliner
which I've been using nonstop forever, and neither what I did with the thicker pencils
for the London vlog.
There's different stuff here now, it has been a while since I last wore eyeshadow, you know?
My foundation today is "Nude Air" from Dior. I like it especially when I'm after a lighter look.
Oh! I forgot to turn the lights on!
And now we'll see if it is or isn't worth it,
lights off before, lights on now. What do you say? What's the veredict?
Because I noticed there's a lot of people complaining
that the video is too bright and they can't see properly.
It might be that, for example, the outside is very bright right now.
So it might be that, when the weather is clear such as today...
(Heh... Do I look pretty?)
...the lights are not needed. But you tell me later.
There's also some people asking me to zoom in more.
And we'll try to do so.
But, to be perfectly honest?
Try to spend less time going for eeeeeevery nook and cranny
of what's being done here and spend more time in front of your own mirrors actually working on the makeup.
You won't learn by watching this frame by frame, it'll happen when you start doing it, understood?
This is very important and I had to say it.
One last thing: please don't focus on every detail of my face.
This is not exacly nice, because
everything is taped in HD nowadays, one day you wake up and feel like
"geez, I don't feel like looking myself in the mirror..."
Just have a look at my towel...
Anyway, you don't feel like seeing yourself in the mirror, you know?
There are days when you're like "whoa, I feel like I was ran over by a tractor."
Still, here you are with lights, camera, big screen...
Then I check the video after it's recorded and I'm like...
"You can't pull one of these off with your mind in the right track..."
So, please, don't mind the little bits. I possibly mentioned this before,
I plan my makeup for life out there, not for a camera.
We all know that video makeup needs to look stronger.
Otherwise it won't show up, right? The set lights, the camera will all wash it out.
So, especially for today...
Today I'm so confused I have no idea what I'm talking about.
I don't know, I should be meditating in a retreat...
I'll start with the bronzer,
this is "Baked" from Laura Mercier.
Then comes the blush, I'll use "Rockateur" from Benefit.
Will use a fluffier brush for it.
I wasn't sure about which brush,
but this one gives a more spread look.
And that fits today's look just fine.
(I hope.)
And I bought this— did I mention this already?
I bought the Ambient powder pallette.
You know well enough that I was crazy about this one, which comes with one color, the Luminous Lighting,
now I bought the palette that comes with Dim Light, Incandescent Light and Radiant Light.
And I use them all.
I got to the conclusion that, when you're feeling and looking tired,
this is the magic powder that will trick everyone.
It's amazing. People come and say "wow, you look great today!"
I thank God that there is makeup in the world.
Seriously though, what actually matters—
I'm not saying that this powder alone will give you a rested look,
but it provides a lighter and more radiant coat.
Just don't forget that "radiant" and "oily" are not the same thing.
Don't forget the highlighter.
I don't mean you have to put a lot of it, but believe what it can do for you.
Maybe a highlighting primer before the foundation, followed by a lighter foundation.
Don't forget the concealer, of course, to smooth out the dark circles.
Although I believe it is sometimes impossible to get completely rid of them, but that's fine.
That's when you find out the products that you go "wow, this one does the job."
Now, a little bit more concealer.
I've been using these from Topshop,
mostly because they're the ones who show up for me.
I'm out of Studio Finish, from MAC,
ever since my palette was completely used.
It's the one with a tougher package. Need to buy a new one soon.
Mostly because this one is almost over...
The hue I use the most is practically wiped out. This is my issue with concealer palettes...
You always use one more in favor of the others.
This is enough, right?
Oh yeah, and I also love the use a lighter hue concealer right below the eyebrows to help it stand out more.
Let's start with the eyes now. First step is the curler.
Now, in order to go on with the charming blend... Ha! That's how I'm gonna call it...
It is so hard to give the videos a title.
I think I repeat myself too often...
Better think in more creative outcomes, such as this one.
So, now I'm going for the Naked 2 palette, mainly for the following shades:
(That's my plan at least for now, but it might change...)
"Tease", a base brown I'll use pretty much everywhere,
"Snakebite", and then maybe a little bit of "Busted" at the corners.
And then maybe the lighter ones...
"Bootycall" looks promising... To... Do a... Highlight of sorts.
Light eyeshadow for a sort of highlight.
Starting with what I call an "average-intermediary" brush.
Intermediary because it is between big, small, fluffy and toughy, OK?
This kind is the one I like the best when going for the overall eyeshadow.
The charming blend first stage is working on...
an intermediary hue with an intermediary brush on the whole eyelid.
It already looks much better than nothing at all, right?
This is is a good sign. You could go for this, maybe a mascara and that's it.
We, however, are going after more emotion.
Now I'll use the pencil-brush, which is a bit tougher and smaller, with a darker shade too,
and apply it where the pencil would be used.
This is to add some depth where the regular pencil would be used.
You can do it very easily with eyeshadow, even if you completely lack eyelining skills.
Even better if you have a small brush. It aids when you're up to target the right spot.
If you feel like it, you can go up a tad, but I think this already looks quite 'charming'.
Now, with the same brush, you'll complete the charming blend close to the lower lashes.
The desired amount of drama will tell you how far you'll drag the eyeshadow.
Since I don't want to make a big impression, I'll drag it just until... You know?
It's not until the middle, it's before that... About ⅓ of the length, so to say.
I won't do it too thick either, just something close to the lashes,
if you think it's too dense, you can spread it with your fingertips.
Just to make it... "Tchans" more.
Now, I'll use a fat brush, "224" from MAC. It is my usual brush for...
I always have one of these clean, and I use it only to wipe the eyeshadow and finish it up,
but I'll tap a darker shadow with it today
to add a delicate darker touch to the crease.
The fluffier the brush, the more it spreads the color.
I even think it doesn't look as smudgy as I wanted to,
but that's OK, you can blend it with the lighter shade in the sequence.
You'll just add a bit of depth here, no need to make it thick.
The usual reminder if you have chubby eyelids and you say
"the crease is hidden when I open my eyes!"
But you don't live with your eyes wide open all the time, you blink, you look down and such.
Work on the crease because it will be under the spotlight when the time comes, OK?
Regardless, it adds a lot of definition on the eyes.
I'll use the other clean brush to do the overall wipe.
No need to say you're not required to have a brush only for this,
you can wipe off the excess of the shadow you just used on a damp cloth.
I always have one on my lap while I make myself up, precisely for cases like this.
I think I'll use the same brush as before, the "intermediate" one,
I like this format a lot, the longer one,
which means you can use it sideways or just the tip when needed.
I'll tap the lighter shade with the tip, which adds a seemingly unnoticeable effect,
but don't forget that hard to notice things can make a lot of difference on makeup.
Don't believe only in the stuff you can see, this is the philosophy behind this video.
Now, completely optional, if you want a bit more definition near the lashes, you do it with a pencil.
I prefer the pencil over the eyeliner because it can be smudged,
and I'll use a brown pencil to match the other brown shades, otherwise it will look too heavy.
This is the time you need to focus the most, not to mention a very sharp tip on the pencil.
Because you don't want to...
...to make the line too visible, you know?
As I was saying, before the camera cut me off (grr!), you don't want a huge line that takes all the attention,
it is there only for an extra bit of definition.
I didn't do it all the way through, only about half of the waterline length and smudged it.
Now the other eye...
You have to—
It is almost like you're drawing dots instead of a line.
And I blend it with the same pencil-brush.
Not sure if you noticed, but I'm not using any eyeshadow.
This is a wiped out brush with a bit of shadow that was already on it.
My lashes were already curled, but now I'll do it a tad more...
And a bit of mascara too.
Now it is up to your preference, you can add a lot, a bit, whatever works for you.
The charming blend is a good basis to follow your heart on the lashes.
If you feel like doing very emotional lashes,
but with an added eyeshadow effect, the charming blend is a good starting point.
Instead, if you're after a more discreet look, such as my case for today,
you put on only a lighter coat of mascara and...
...that's it.
And that's it! I gotta tell you, there are days all you can think is
"I feel so lazy, maybe I'll go through a makeup detox", but...
I look much better now compared to the beggining of the video, right? I can't deny that...
Now, for the lipstick... I didn't think of any lipstick.
Alright, got it. I'll use this one which reminded me to tell you that bareMinerals is no longer in Brazil.
This is so sad...
I like a lot many bareMinerals products.
I obviously won't stop using them, right?
You all know I use many products that are not sold in Brazil, so it would be pointless to stop using these.
Still, it is sad. They didn't disclose much information, just operational decisions.
You can still buy them online, so there's that.
I'm not sure at which stage they are at the moment, if they're already off, if you still can find them at Sephora,
so it might be worth having a look around and store a product you like.
OK everyone, this is it. I hope you've all enjoyed this video.
It was a bit confusing, but I believe it was worth the while. I'm not doing anything on the eyebrows...
I have no nailpolish on... Got back from travelling and my nails were like...
So I wiped them off. Also detoxing my nails. The nails are fine, my face not so much.
Bye everyone, see you Wednesday.
I hope I'm refreshed, renewed, meditaded and all by then.
So then we'll have a regular video.
