With a little help from my friends The Moraine Valley Foundation continued helping
the college further its mission by providing much-needed funds totaling more than half-a-million
dollars to support programs, activities and scholarships.
Money raised at the dinner gala and the golf outing contributed to this support.
The college president and executive leadership team’s dedication to employees, students
and the community we serve remained steadfast throughout the year.
And the Board of Trustees continued guiding Moraine Valley on our learning-centered mission.
The college was awarded more than five million dollars in grants this past year.
New grants for career pathways, cultural diversity, cybersecurity, and others were obtained.
The first Men’s Conference was held for employees and students to share ideas on leadership.
Former Chicago Bear Chris Zorich served as keynote.
The inaugural Women’s Leadership Conference also took place, with opportunities for women
to grow personally and professionally.
Multi-talented Chicago media performer Jeanne Sparrow moderated a panel discussion.
In addition, the annual Retention Conference occurred, focusing on ways to keep students
enrolled to reach their educational goals.
Our employees offered support to local organizations during Community Learning Day, where we learned
about area agencies and pitched in to help.
