Dr. Nolan: Here at Kessler Foundation, I study individuals with stroke and I look mobility
impairments, specifically walking. And we are looking at changes in walking when you
add different devices to the lower limb. After you’ve had a stroke, you often have one
side that’s weaker and you often have difficulty using that limb to load or bear weight during
walking and you have difficulty using the muscles and coordination bilaterally, or on
either side, while you’re walking. So we aim to look at interventions that can help
with walking as well as assist with recovery of walking throughout all of our research
projects.
