00:03 COMM: A safari through the bush took a turn
for the worse when a two and a half ton giraffe charged at a group of holiday makers.

00:14 COMM: The incredible footage was captured
by Rainer Schimpf during a recent trip to South Africa.
00:21 COMM: The group was on a jeep safari when
they spotted a giraffe. After slowly walking up to the jeep, the giraffe's behaviour started
to become aggressive towards them.
00:33 COMM: The thirteen foot giraffe bull is believed
to have had a hormonal imbalance which triggered the attack.
00:40 MAN: He's following us again on the track.
00:44 COMM: The jeep tried to outrun the giraffe
but the bull caught them, and rammed the vehicle taking the wing mirror clean off.

the giraffe and arrive safely back at camp where they were able to assess the damage.
01:10 WOMAN: It must have been very close to your
head eh? MAN: It was very close to my head.
