So, slow motion is pretty cool, right? I mean, it's in a lot of action movies,
and comes up a lot in sporting events. But what's the big deal about it?
I mean, why is it such a big part of media today?
Well, here at HighSpeedFanatics, we're gonna find out.
For example, a balloon. It's pretty simple, right?
I mean, the only exciting thing it does is pop.
But even then, not much happens.
It's not until we slow it down, and you can see much more about the "popping process".
Using this high speed digital camera, we are able to capture the world around us at very high frame rates.
Including 1,500
2,500
5,000
10,000
25,000
And even at over 100,000 frames per second; slowing life down over 4,000 times.
Each week on Friday, we're gonna have a new episode; each with its own theme.
It's gonna work something like this:
The first half of the experiment is when my assistant, Grace, and I, are going to be doing the experiments, and having some fun.
The second half of the episode is when we're going to review the footage, and learn some science.
