i've been looking through catalog and loving all the projects that i'm seeing in it
especially
the tents that are featured here on this page and i want to show you how to make those
now you may be wondering where do we get the inspiration for all the projects
that you see in our catalogs and a lot of them our original designs
but when we do need inspiration we looked the same place that you do
on the internet and that's where we found the pattern to make this fun
little tent favor
in your search engine just type summer camp ten pattern and we selected the
pattern that was featured on the waffle flower dot com
site
when you print that out
it looks like this
this was a little bit smaller
than what we wanted to make the size of our tents and so we made a couple of
modifications
first of all
i enlarged it a hundred and thirty three percent so i got the size that i
would like
and then i also wanted my tent to not be open on both hands i wanted one end
to be completely closed
so i added this little tab here
so that i could add some adhesive to it and close off the back of the tent
i also wanted the slit here in the front of the tend to be a little bit
longer so i drew that line
a tad bit longer there
once i was done with all of those modifications
and i copied it onto old olive cardstock
cut that out
scored on all of the
fold lines
and then i'm ready to go ahead and start
uh... stamping the image onto the back of the project
now the stamp set that we used is the wood grain background stamp and you can see
this is pretty big and kind of hard to hold in your hand so whenever i'm using
stamps this size i'd like to lay them directly on the table
and then turn my ink pad upside down
to ink it up
and then you can just
put the ink on your stamp like that
so
you can see that my pattern is larger
than what the stamp image is
so fold the paper just a bit so that i can get it on to the
uh... image
correctly so this is how i did it i folded these flaps in
and then folded that one down so now i have a size that's perfect to fit onto
my stamp
so put that on to the stamp
and once i have that
image transferred it'll look like this so i had these two sections and now i
just need to do this one here
so i'll fold it up exactly the same way again
and then i'll turn this around and i will
put the image on that way
and of course i'm inking up my stamp in between
all right when i'm done with that now we have all three sections
that are completed
and i just need to get these pieces
stamped now those are at an angle
so i'll fold those in so that i can line them up so the image from the stamp is
going up and down
so to do that i'll fold this bottom flap up like that
and the top flap
down like that
and then i want to have this so that it's lined up with the bottom of my
stamp edge
so i'll do that one like that
and then the other side i'll just flip it around
and stamp it
so that the image is on there and when i'm done
it looks just like this
you can see how that pattern
is a little bit different then what's on the sides of the ten
so then i would just
cut the slit in the tent
and you fold those back just a little bit
and then i added sticky strip to all the tabs to make it
so i can
put my tent together and it will just fold together just exactly like that
so here's one that i've done that's completely
finished
and then we want to add a little pennant
to the top of our tent
and the way that i made the pennant
is that i stamped on whisper white card stock using midnight muse ink
and this image is from the abc 123
alphabet and numbers stamp set
and then
i punched it out using the three fourths inch circle punch
and then layered it on top of a little triangle piece of tangerine tango
cardstock
and to get my
toothpick in there
i just used the paper piercer to start the hole
and then that just fits in there like that
so this will make up perfect favor for a camping themed birthday party
and the last thing that you need to do is just putt in some candy
now your demonstrator can help you
find any of these products that you might need in your supply so that you
can make this and if you don't have a stampin' up demonstrator
go to our website and you can find a demonstrator who's close to you
so have fun making this project and until next time happy stamping
