I grew up in Virginia, in Spotsylvania and finished working on the farm I decided that
I was gonna go in the military spent 40 years on active duty, and as things would work out
I ended up moving to Daleville, Alabama, which Fort Rucker and Daleville are right together.
After I retired from there, I went on to work for the Army Safety Center there. And I knew
Liberty University was here because I remember back in 1971, when i join the Army that Liberty
College was starting and I, but I didn't know they had an online program where I could work
on my degree, because every time I'd start a degree
I was never able to finish it 'cause the Army would move me, and so I started the online
degree when it was on videotape. I guess it was last year or the year before
they were looking for alumni to support the building at the new library and I thought
this is a good cause, you know, because the library is so important to the students that
come here. I can go back and, knowing what the university started out as in 1971, and
seeing where we're at today, I know that it takes the Alumni to help. To me it's just
so important that you are able to give back to the university that you graduated from.
