Hello everyone and welcome to pre-spring break "What's on my Mind" I have three
things I'd like to chat with you about real quickly today
before I do that though I just want to send out a shout out on a job well done
for Fine and performing Arts, had an amazing scholarship fundraiser over the weekend
with the spirit of 76 concert
under the direction of Dr. Chris Scinto you missed a great show and if you missed it you got
to get out there next year take a look
so three things on my mind. One, we're doing a great job in making progress as they say
moving the needle on our strategic priorities
I had a chance today to give a presentation to the University of Arizona
President Dr. Hart
and was pleased to share some of our improved success data persistence data
fall to fall, fall to spring completion data we are really as they
say moving the needle so
I look forward to sending out some more detailed information about that. Secondly it's
important that you're aware as we go through the budget allocation process
for FY-15
which is well underway right now, two things, one is our
one year only allocations are reduced by about three-hundred-twenty-three
thousand dollars
Secondly, our base budget is likely be reduced about four-hundred-fifty-thousand
dollars
both of these are attributed to our declining enrollment the
last two years. We will still do the very best we can with the budget we have
but again it puts the
effort, the onus on us to do a much better job as it relates to reaching new
student
markets in doing a better job of keeping our students here once they enroll
so look for a couple new ideas a couple fresh ideas coming out the president's
leadership team, coming out of the Student Affairs Division
on some things we can do to turn that enrollment situation around
and lastly, given that it's spring break I thought it'll be a great time to kinda
touch on wellness again
I hope you're out there exercising, finding that mental health balance that physical
balance
and joining me today is Donna Layshock again who would
like to talk with us a little about health risk assessment. - Hello everyone I just want to
let you know to very important dates March 24 and March 25 for your
health benefits
March 24 you can come and talk to those people about your health insurance which
plan you want to go with A or B, and the second day March 25
is your health risk assessment and continuance tasks which gives board approved
employees a six-hundred dollar cash incentive per year for your health insurance
so keep your eyes open for details and I hope all of you can come
thank you. - Remember Paradise Valley Community College
is a learning centered college where through the power of learning we transform
lives
and enable positive social change.
