Eating that burger wasn't a good choice, especially before our pickup game.

Ken is gonna sit this one out. Are you not feeling well?
I thought a burger would keep me going. You ate a burger before basketball?
With bacon. What did you have?
I had a delicious grilled chicken sandwich with hummus, lettuce, cucumbers, tomatoes,
on a whole-wheat bun. There you go. I thought the protein
would be good for me. Ground beef, like all meat,
has protein, but it's loaded with fat. So is bacon. Chicken is a leaner
source of protein, and hummus is packed with protein.
That hamburger isn't good fuel for a workout. So I should have chosen chicken?
Anytime you fuel up with protein, make sure it's lean.
Your body can convert the protein into energy without the extra fat.
What are some other choices? Cheese or milk--
low-fat or nonfat--are great sources of protein. Beans are low-fat
and packed with protein. Yes! Great choices! Some seafood
and soy are low in fat, great sources of protein
to keep you scoring longer. Did you go lean with protein today?
