Hello, I'm Nicolas Honnorat
I'm 29 and I have been living in London for 4 years.
I worked in Homeaway.co.uk during 3 years,
I curently work in uSwitch.com, a price comparator in the energy sector.
We also have broadband services and credit card services...
and home and car insurances.
Why did I move to London?
I had a 6 month internship to do abroad.
So, a 6-month internship, and after 5 months I had a permanent contract offer.
Between returning to Marseille or staying in London, the choice was easy.
I decided to stay in London.
I stayed 3 years in the same company,
then I had to make a choice:
either stay in the same company or change.
I applied to various offers,
and I had quite a lot of job interviews,
and from there uSwitch.com hired me in one week.
Let's speak about hard times, I had a few, just like everyone,
for me maybe less than for others,
because I come from a school with many connections in London.
So thanks to Facebook, you can find friends already settled in London.
you can sleep at your friend's flat at the beginning,
then you will find a room of your own quite easily.
Right now I'm living in a flatshare with 3 young professionals, pretty funny guys.
My life in London is... amazing,
compared to my little life in Marseille...
In Marseille you've got 3 bars, 3 restaurants and you always meet the same person...
In London you can enjoy night life from Monday to Sunday, there is always something to do.
There surely is some places really too expensive,
but there is always some great things to discover.
You just have to be resourceful, and curious to discover new spots.
One last advice?
Leave France!
Just leave as fast as you can this country governed by... (socialist French president)
There is no opportunity over there,
while in England you can try to get a job,
and who knows, within two or three years, you may have a better job than before.
I mean, anyway, staying in France is no good.
So come to England, have a good time, enjoy all these new things,
stay for two or three years, and you will maybe go back to France but...
I mean, you just have to be open minded to travel, and dicover new cultures.
Of course, London is not really England,
it's a microenvironment, really unique.
You will meet people from another culture,
but if you stay in France, you will be confined to spend your nights with your friends,
keeping the same mentality, and you will die as an idiot.
So, just be open minded, travel and just enjoy!
