Hello and welcome to My Weekly Geekery, the show in which I talk about what's been
going on in my geeky world over the past seven days.
Top story today is that many series one cast members will be returning
for Broadchurch series 2,
including David Tennant, Olivia Colman, Arthur Darvill, Jodie Whittaker,
and Andrew Buchan. It has also been revealed that Charlotte Rampling
will be joining the main cast. I'm looking forward to the new series
although I was quite worried about it when it was first announced that there would be a series 2.
Speaking of, the first trailer has been released for Gracepoint, the US version of
Broadchurch, starring David Tennant and
Anna Gunn. The ten-part series will air on Fox in autumn and I shall link to the trailer below.
In Doctor Who news, two new cast members have been announced for series 8.
Hermione Norris from Spooks and The Crimson Field is guest starring in Peter Harness'
episode which is currently filming in Lanzarote.
Also, comedian and longtime Frank Skinner is appearing in Jamie Mathieson's
episode.
This episode also features David Bamber and Daisy Beaumont. In Harry Potter news we have a
release date for the first spin off movie, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.
The first of the trilogy will be out in cinemas on November the 18th 2016.
So not long to wait? And finally in 'Mouse mentions something which is on TV
soon and which might be quite good',
the BAFTA TV Awards are on tomorrow night, Sunday the 18th May, at 8 p.m. on BBC1.
There are nominations for Broadchurch, In the Flesh, and The Wrong Mans, among many many
many others,
and I shall talk about the winners in next week's video. This has been My Weekly Geekery.
