Hi, on behalf of expertvillage.com I'm Lori Wyman from Lori Wyman Casting in North Miami
Beach, Florida and today we're going to talk to you about on camera auditioning techniques.
This topic is slating in character. First of all you need to know what slating is, slating
is introducing yourself. What you're going to do every time you come on an audition is
you're going to slate. That means you stand on your mark, let me show you what that means.
Here's your mark, right over here, come on right here, alright if you just look right
down there, see that little piece of tape? That is called a mark and that is where you
stand every time you slate and your slate is your introduction. That means hi, my name
is and any other information that the casting director is looking for. Make sure you slate
in character, in the character of whom you're auditioning for. We'll be right back!
