Hello guys!
Today!
I am so excited!
Today I am going to show to how to make
the original Margherita Pizza at home
I love pizza, and especially the thin ones
So today I will show you a homemade one
The ones that you can taste in the streets of Italy!
lol I will make that kind of pizza
It is not that complicated
So I hope you make it and tag me on Instagram!
Prepare a lukewarm water
Heat the water in the microwave for 15 seconds, and you will
obtain a lukewarm body-temp water
Add the dry yeast
If you are using a sachet of 7g, use half of it
And dilute it well
Don't be aggressive, it's a living organism!
Gently stir
and you can see that it has this Makgulli consistancy(rice wine)
If you leave it for 5-10minutes
It will start to from a gas
Prepare the flour
Mix them well
And then the rice wine...no the yeast water. Add it!
Now, the important part
Before we let it rest, let's work it for a long time
Keep kneading even if it's sticky
Flour the counter
and put the dough on top (fleurer)
and then flour it more
We are gonna knead it
with our palms, pressing it down
and pushing it against our body
If it starts to stick, sprinkle more flour
Press down with your palm, push!
Do it for like 10 minutes(or less)
And it will become like this!
It is elastic
See?
When you press, it doesn't bounce back right away
but it comes back a bit slowly
Flour the bowl
put the dough and let it rest
Covering it with kitchen towel or a tea towel
for about 1-2hours
In a warm place (not hot)
As you wait
make the pizza sauce. I used the basic tomato sauce
I selected something that is thick
I recommend Ottogi for Korean brand
Add some water
and use a hand mixer or a standing one
You want to get rid of any chunks
for it's not tasty for the pizza
Season it with salt and sugar
Cover it with a plastic film
and cook it in the microwave for a minute
You have to use a warm sauce for the pizza
Stir well the warm sauce
and cover it again.
I used fresh mozzarella cheese
but if you can't get this one, just use the shredded one
Cut it in the shape you desire
And I have fresh basil at home
I used these, but if you don't have it, use dried ones
It has been an hour. I think I let it rest for an hour and 10 minutes
You can see that it has expanded in size
and I also made another batch!
Because I have other guys to eat this..
Poke the dough
so the air comes out
I'm flouring the board where I'm gonna place the pizza dough
And also flour the counter
and place the dough
We are not using the whole dough
but only half
So we can make 2 pizzas!
Now make it round
if you tuck in
It will become smooth and round
Pull it with your hands like this
Pull it
It will try to shrink again, but don't worry
it will stay in its form the more you pull
Don't worry about the holes
you can pinch and close it
Now that the dough became wide enough
Let's transfer it to the board
Pull a bit again
And let's head to the stove!
Use high heat
If you are using a cast iron, use high heat, and if you are using a thin pan, use medium heat
Drizzle some olive oil
And wait until the pan gets hot
It will become smoky!
When you see the smoke, quickly place the dough on top
Fast! Bbali!
If it shrinks, just quickly pull it
and cook it!
You will see some air pockets
I think this is gonna turn out yummy!
Check the bottom frequently
Tadah!
And now quickly spread the tomato sauce on top!
The sauce, the cheese, and other ingredients you desire!
Whatever you want
If you want to top it with bell peppers or onions, cook them in advance and then put it on the pizza
I used about 3 tablespoon of sauce
I'm placing the cheese
Really quickly!
I wanted more cheese at the end, so I added shredded cheese
Cover it with aluminum foil and leave it for 2-3minutes in LOW HEAT
Tadah!
Amazing!
You can see the sauce+cheese cooking
even the edges are slightly colored, like a stone oven pizza!
This is art, guys!
I made this, but this is amazing!
Finish it with fresh basil
OR dried basil, parsley, oregano, whatever you want
It is your choice!
You can slice this with kitchen scissors
or fork and knife
I have the pizza cutter so I will use that
Now listen how crunchy this is
Today...is...pizza-gasm day guys
You can see that the dough has those air holes. Perfect
It turned to be an amazing Neapolitan Pizza
Without and oven!!
Isn't it crazy that it isn't oven baked?
Yeah! So crazy!
-So good! -Isn't that like, so crunchy? and crazy?!!
-Josh:Gabie made this without an oven! -Ollie: Wha..?
-Ollie: How did you make it?
Pan....with a pan!
-Ollie: How do you make it with a pan? You just fry it?
Yeah!
So how was it? Easy?
It does take some time for the dough to rise
but that's easy!
If you double this recipe, you can make 4 pizzas!
Now let me try this Margherita Pizza!
I like to fold them
This is it!
So crispy on the outside, and elastic in the inside
This is like, you walk in the streets on Italy
and you're like " Oh! I'm so hungy!"
"Oh! There's a pizza place!"
"Should I get a slice?"
...it tastes like that! (I never ate pizza in the streets of Italy but oh well)
Do I have something in teeth?
You can see that my luggage is out
I have to pack to leave to Korea soon...
