Hello Food Tubers, I'm Tim Shieff; athlete, world champion Freerunner and also a vegan.
Today I'm gonna share with you a little secret. It's my favourite vegan snack - sweet potato
wedges. Easier and cheaper than going to your chippy. I make it every time some friends
come around. It's so simple to make. That's not what makes it my favourite though. It's
my favourite because it's got sweet potatoes in it. That is my staple as a vegan.
You want about one and a half to two sweet potatoes per person. It depends on the size
of the sweet potato and it depends on the size of the person. Cut them in to four. You
can wash them if you want, gage that for yourself. There we have it, all our sweet potatoes into
four, into the tray. Easy as that. Pour on some oil, flaxseed oil. You could use avocado
oil, hempseed oil or olive oil as they like to do on Food Tube. Then you choose your spice.
I go with paprika most of the time. Drop it all on there. You can use cumin. For you vegans
out there you know what nutritional yeast is if you want to cheese it up, vegan style.
If you wanna add salt and pepper to it you can. I don't think it needs it personally,
if you have the right spice it's all good. Then you just shake it up. Look at all those
back-flipping sweet potatoes.
How simple is that. Three ingredients; sweet potatoes, paprika
and oil. Put it in the oven for about 30-35 minutes, 200 degrees or until you poke it
with a fork and it's soft in the middle.
And whilst that's cooking I like to have some
fun in the kitchen and do a bit of a work out.
Right, give me a second. Hahaha.
Right, I think the sweet potato wedges are ready now. Let's go and check them out. Time
to eat. There we have it. They always shrink a bit
in the oven. They get so sweet and crispy and soft. The skin really is the final touch.
For me it's pretty much the best bit or its the combination as the skin hits the flesh,
that's where the sweetness is found. Final touch, ketchup and enjoy!
So sweet and the texture of the soft potato and the crunchy skin make it the perfect snack. If you wanna

It's been a pleasure making the simplest dish on the planet for you. I'm outty.
