Hi, my name is Claire Watkinson and I am the director of Living With Me and My OCD.
I've suffered from OCD since I was six years old,
and I started filming this documentary in 2012 when I suffered from a really bad breakdown of OCD
[Song: Florence + The Machine - Cosmic Love]
This is a crowd funding video because we need your help now,
we need as many people just to share this video, to spread it, to tweet it, to facebook it,
and if you can possibly help to raise money, and donate some money,
and in the Post-Production stage, where we need finance to get an editor, a sound designer,
titles, animations, grading, and also distribution so it can be distributed around the whole world.
The main aims of this film is to reach people that don't know what OCD is,
so they know what OCD is. It is to inform and educate.
It is for people that have OCD and the freedom of people to watch it,
so they know that they're not alone.
And also to raise awareness of OCD, I really want it to change the opinions
of people that think OCD is just cleaning, washing hands.
I've cut a trailer; a short clip together, of what the film is looking like so far,
showing the style of the interviews.
Thank you for watching this and if you have any questions,
please contact me. Thank you!
[Song: Radiohead - Street Spirit (Fade Out) ]
OCD? Isn't that Obsessive Compulsive Disorder? Like, when you wash your hands all the time
when you'ved touched stuff, you can't shake people's hand,
all that sort of stuff.
Things have to be in order, clean, tidy.
I personally don't know what it is at all.
Do you think there's any other symptoms, other than that?
Erm, it is a psychological disorder isn't it? But other than that no,
I don't think there's anything much to say what you can do with it,
If you've got it, you've got it!
There's not enough people that are aware of what OCD is like,
not many people understand what we suffer with and,
what we're going through.
At her worst she would stab herself, 'Mr Meanie' told her to,
and if she didn't, I'd die.
I get lots of intrusive thoughts, a lot of suicidal thoughts, self harm.
1: So you got beaten up for OCD? 2: Yeah.
And how old were you then?
I was...I think I was about nine.
[Upset]
And to see your child want to hurt herself to save you,
and I couldn't do anything to stop that.
I start thinking indepthly,
saying 'Oh if I'm a paedophile, I can never act on that' or
'I'm going to have to get castrated' and things, it was just,
no *** attraction at all towards children but my mind was convincing me that I was a pedophille.
The other thing it's stopped me doing is having kids, I was frightened I would shake them.
So I used to punch myself in the stomach.
Probably one of the worst OCD's I've had, because it's bedridden me,
was one when I felt this incredible intrusive thought
that I was going to basically stab my mum, her partner, and my sister.
First diary entry from Boston in America, in the Sheraton Hotel.
Launched the OCD wristbands, got one here.
It would be amazing to have some pill that I took that got rid of the thoughts.
This OCD is just like...
it's just taking over everything! [Upset]
That's my daughter. And she's...
she's really consumed with this horrible thing,
that people think is funny.
And if they could see that, or be more aware of things like that,
it's not funny.
[THANKS FOR WATCHING! ! !]
