Alright, so this is a beautiful day outside, uhh you can see the mountains back there – right
there. This is my backyard… What we’re gonna be doing today, we’re gonna be detecting,
using these tools of the trade.
As you can see on the far right here, that’s a White’s DFX detector – DFX Spectrum.
Then my garden trowel, just to the left of it, then what looks like a walkie-talkie,
that is the White’s pinpointer, Bullseye 2, and I have it set to vibrate mode, because
I’m hard of hearing, and I use the vibrate mode, so it tells me if I’m near the target.
And, you might be wondering why the kitchen towel’s there, but it is there to catch
all the dirt that I dig out of the hole, so I can put it back in, and leave no evidence
that there was a hole dug up. Now I’m gonna go ahead start detecting, and I’ll show
you that in a few moments.
… and now turn on the detector, let it boot up. Comes up on the menu, and you can see
preset options, basic adjustments, and pro options, and it goes into preset options – coins,
coin and jewelry, jewelry and beach, relic, and prospecting, and those are the factory
programs. These are the EEPROM programs, four spots in there. I’m gonna select the Fox
Coin and Jewelry program there, I found this one on the Internet, and the only tweak that
I did to the program was to increase the volume on it. Select it, load. Balance it, [beep]
bring it down towards the ground and balance it, [beep], okay, then start detecting.
[Detector sounds tones] And you hear that? Found something there, pinpoint it, it’s
right there. Dig in there.
Alright, now you see the hole, that’s been dug, right here, kitchen trowel – garden
trowel over right there, all the dirt that’s been dug right over here, and the pro-pointer,
the pinpointer’s just giving me a little tickle, at at the bottom of the hole. [Pinpointer
makes vibrating noise repeatedly] Right there. [Pinpointer vibrates some more] And it’s
telling me that there’s something down there, in the hole.
And this is what I found, right here. Found at… ooohhh, probably six inches? Six to
eight inches? And it’s an iron nail. Try that with the pinpointer, [pinpointer vibrates],
and that’s a nail. Amazing, isn’t it?
I did find something else in the same hole that I found the nail. [Detector sounds off]
And, you can see that it is a penny. Tried to see if there was anything else there, and
I found the penny in the hole. Gonna check the hole again. [Detector makes random buzzing
and beeping tones] And, there may be something in there, but I don’t think there is. It’s
just a little chatty right there.
