Hey you! So I am very stressed right now but it’s a good kind of stress because I love
my job and I’m extremely grateful to all the people and things in my life that make
it possible. That said It would be nice to know what it feels like to relax instead of
kinda always feel like I’m just procrastinating something... All the time.
Today I wanted to talk about some really cool stuff that’s coming up this month here in
the UK and that is both London Comic Con and also…. My book tour! Because, again, I am
a am apparently a respected literary author and the world needs to know what I have to say.
Yes, we’re taking this show - which is… my… this… - on the road between the 21st
of October and the 1st of November. The book tour is being hosted by Waterstones so you
get in by buying or pre-ordering Art is Dead, and we’re gonna be visiting:
London on Wednesday the 21st of October Cambridge on Thursday the 29th
Birmingham on Friday the 30th Lincoln also on the 30th
Liverpool on Saturday the 31st Manchester also on the 31st.
and finally Glasgow on Sunday the 1st of November
I’m pretty sad I’ll be touring over Halloween because I fully intended on dressing up as
the first half of a before and after photo. It's a real shame.
Really looking forward to visiting my hometown of Cambridge - because take that, teachers
who told me making stupid jokes wouldn’t get me anywhere and also - because Matt, who
illustrated the book, will be there too. We’re not sure exactly how that’s gonna work yet
but… He’ll be there in some way. Hands.
Matt will also be with me in my university town of Lincoln. The signing is actually being
hosted at the university because Lincoln has a tiny Waterstones and also because I’ll
be giving a talk there too! So, come hang out. It’s gonna be fun.
Now if you’ve ever met me you’ll know I like to spend as much time as possible meeting
each and every one of you but apparently this will be a little like “hello, nice to meet
you, let’s get a selfie, oh your mum’s phone number? thank you! bye bye”. Not exactly
how I like doing things but Waterstones is some kind of “business” that would like
their “shop back” eventually. I don't. I don't understand.
However, if you would like to spend a little more time hanging out then please do come
to London Comic Con on the 23rd to the 25th of October! A few years ago I worked with
the MCM folk to start a section of the convention called ‘VidFest’ and since then it’s
grown so much that this year we have our own hall! Dedicated to just our little section.
So if you’re coming to the convention please come see us aswell. It's gonna get very lonely in there.
This year we’re gonna be selling t-shirts, wristbands, posters, and, of course, the book!
Matt Ley will be on the table so make sure you say hi to him and the rest of the team.
Also next to us will be Eddie and Ben manning the Eddsworld and Crash Zoom table. Eddie
being the co-writer, co-director and producer of Eddsworld and Ben being the animator of
Crash Zoom and asdfmovie! Get yourself some shwag.
Also at VidFest/Comic Con/MCM/whatever, I’ll be taking to the stage to preview a bunch
of awesome stuff such as upcoming sketches, Crash Zoom, Eddsworld, it’s just a good
time and my favourite convention to do because I get to meet so many of you… and take your
money. Not that you have to pay to meet me or anything that’d be weird. Autographs,
photos, hugs all that stuff are always free. Also before you ask yes, I am there every
May and every October MCM London. I'm always there. I never leave.
Alright! That’s everything. I look forward to seeing some of your faces at those places
and I hope you enjoy my new video this Friday. Now if you’ll excuse me, I have to go figure
out who’s been shipping the books two weeks early and hit them with a stick.
TomSka out.
