i Everyone, I just got back from a shopping spree.
I went to Ross, TJMaxx, Marshalls and Dollar Tree
because I was on a mission to find affordable organizing products that people can use if
they have a small or limited budget.
So a lot of people think if they are going to
get organized, they have to have this enormous budget
if they are going to afford organizing products, which
is not true. If you shop around, you can find stuff to
meet any budget. I kept in mind a low budget to figure out
what I could find and I found a lot of good stuff and I
am really excited to share with you what I found.
I have about 20 things in front of me I am going to
lift up and show you guys. The first thing I found and I was so surprised
to find this because Iíve never found this anywhere
else except the one retail store I like to go to. This
is a tiered shelf for soup cans for the pantry. This is
the exact same tiered shelf I use inside my pantry that
I absolutely love. This is actually one of the products
I have on my list of favorite organizing products. This
is actually the smaller one, so it comes in 2 sizes. I
have the larger one in my pantry. Both are amazing. This was
at Ross for $6.99. Again, when I saw this I was like ìWhoa,
Iíve never seen this anywhere other than retail stores.î
So I was quite excited. So if you are organizing your
pantry, Ross has amazing pantry products.
Next thing I found, which actually belongs in the pantry
also, this is an airtight container from TJMaxx. The
brand is Sistema, but anyway, this is the best brand for
food storage containers, for airtight containers, I like
to use Oxo, but this is the best for food storage. Itís
an expensive brand; even at TJMaxx it was a little costly
it was $5.99 just for this container; they had a variety,
some big ones, some small ones, taller ones and so forth.
But this is half the price you would pay at retail stores
so if you want a really good brand of food storage
container, TJMaxx has Sistema. So whatís really awesome
about this is the lid. I have this thing with lids, if
it clicks on nicely, I get really excited. If it doesnít
click on really nicely, I donít like using it. This brand
clicks on very nicely. Itís BPA free, they come in all
sorts of sizes and shapes, and they are stackable and
they are just awesome. $5.99 at TJMaxx, again itís kind
of expensive, but if you are looking for something that
works nicely, you can check that one out. Another spice rack I found from TJMaxx, itís
a tiered shelf like what I showed you and itís expandable,
so longer shorter depending on the length of
your pantry shelves. This one is not expandable but it
does the same thing. Itís made for spices, but you can
put canned goods on it. This was $2.49 at TJMaxx, so a little
more affordable a little bit smaller, but again,
if you are looking for a tiered shelf, $2.49 at TJMaxx.
Next thing I found was a tackle box at TJMaxx for $2.99.
that is a great price if youíve seen a tackle box at
retail stores they are a little more expensive so $2.99
for this product is amazing. If youíve watched my videos
before you know I use these tackle boxes for all sorts of
organizing things like batteries, nails, screws. I use it
for labels and label accessories. So an amazing find from
TJMaxx at $2.49. So this next product is called The Diamond
Drawer Organizer. Itís made for containing your socks, tights,
underwear or ties in your drawers or closets. Actually,
Iíve never used this before, but Iíve used this brand before.
They are amazing. They work well. They are high quality
and kind of expensive if you buy them in the retail store.
This one was $4.99 at TJMaxx and it expands to fit any
drawer and then you cut them Ö Iím not sure I am explaining
this well Ö hereís what it looks like. Then you just
cut them down to size to fit your drawer.
So the next product is expandable drawer dividers by
Progressive. These were $6.99 at TJMaxx. Iíve seen this in
the clearance aisle for $4.99, which is a steal because if
youíve seen these in the retail store, they are pretty
expensive. So Iíve never used this brand, but I have used
Progressive in kitchen gadgets and they work well, the
quality is great. So I have no doubt these work great for
dressers or bathroom drawers or whatever you are trying to
divide in a drawer. The next product is Simply Stashed, over the
door pockets. So if youíve seen my videos before, you know
I door pockets in my bathroom to corral all the small things
in the bathroom. I love door pockets; I use them
all over the house. I especially love Simply Stashed because
they have a lot of pretty designs and colors and stuff.
This is the gold floral one, and it was $9.99 at TJMaxx.
If youíve ever [purchased] door pockets before, they are
a little bit more expensive because, you know, a lot of them
are great quality. I donít know why theyíre expensive,
but this one is really cheap. It was 9.99 at TJMaxx. If
you have a TJMaxx and are looking for door pockets, that
is the place to go. They had other brands as well, but
of course, when I saw Simply Stashed, I had to get it. $9.99
at TJMaxx Some of the next products are from Dollar
Tree, actually, thereís one more from TJMaxx. I wasnít going
to show you guys this because every TJMaxx has these,
but they are drawer compartment organizer for your office
drawer or your kitchen drawer. You can put office supplies,
kitchen gadgets and stuff. TJMaxx had a huge variety
of these. I like this brand, MadeSmart, they were $3.99
for 2 stackable containers.
This next product I bought at TJMaxx because it was the
first store I went to, but I saw it at Dollar Tree,
Ross, and Marshalls. Itís the vacuum seal bags youíve
probably seen them at other stores before. Apparently
you can get them at Dollar Tree for a dollar. This one
was from TJMaxx and it was 4.99 and is probably a little
bit higher quality than the Dollar Tree brand, I donít
know for sure, Iím just making an assumption. I have
mixed feelings about vacuum sealed bags, but if you like
them and they work for you, you donít mind getting the
vacuum cleaner out to suck that air out of the bag.
Then go to Ross, TJMaxx, Marshalls or even dollar store,
they are everywhere. Again, they are half the price of
the retail store. They are available in a lot of stores.
The last 8 products are from the dollar store. They were
all a dollar. The first product is a metal over the door
hook. A lot of hooks Iíve seen at the dollar store have
been plastic and they havenít seemed like theyíve been
good quality. So when I saw a metal hook I was like ëoh,
this seems like it wonít snap in half and will hold a lot
of weight.í So, over the door hook for a dollar.
The 2nd thing is tie dye duct tape. If you find it at a
craft store of home improvement store, you know itís
expensive. Itís like $4.49 or $4.99 a roll. This was a
dollar. This isnít as thick as what you would buy at an
arts and craft store, but again, itís a dollar. And you
get a roll about half the size so itís still a bargain.
They had a lot of designs, but I liked the tie dye best.
But they had leopard, camouflage, polka dot, so they had
lots of fun color. The reason I am showing you this
because I like to use a lot of duct tape in my labeling,
so I will just cut a piece maybe like 3-4 inches long,
tape it to a box with a label on top about whatís inside
so it just adds a pop of color on a label on a box.
This next product is a pop-up hamper from the dollar store.
It was a dollar. I have a very similar blue pop-up hamper
for $9.99 at another store, I wonít tell you where, but now
that I see this, I think I should have gone to the dollar
store because they have the exact same thing. This next product is a sweater storage bag
and itís actually 2 to a pack. You donít have to actually
store sweaters in a sweater bag, you can store linens,
towels, blankets, clothes, you can store shoes, and
anything you want to keep dust out is great in a sweater
bag. So 50 cents for each one is a complete steal.
So this next product Iíve been using for 10 years. I
havenít used them in the past 2 years because I havenít
found them. But I found them again and Iím really excited.
They are tall, pink, scented trash bags. I wouldnít use
them in the kitchen; I would use them in the bathroom
trashcan. I donít know about you, but in my bathroom, the
trashcan is medium size, an awkward size. Itís not big,
so I wouldnít use a tall kitchen bag, I wouldnít want to
use those because they are expensive, but itís not small
enough here I could use a grocery store bag, which is
what I use now and waste space. Itís a medium size and
these are medium size, and they are pink and they smell
good and they are a dollar. There are 28 bags here so itís
4 cents a bag and I just love that they are pink. I havenít
found them in a few years but Iím glad I found them again.
Next product is a Sharpie marker. So I donít about you, but
every time I go to the office supply store, Sharpies are
like 4 for $5 or $1.59 for a big fat one and this one was a
dollar at the dollar store. I feel like I can never have
enough black Sharpies since I use one a month and they dry
out and I go to another one. So, the dollar store has Sharpies.
The next thing I found are these binders sleeves to
organize sports card and trading cards. Thatís what they
are supposed to be for, but I use them for all kinds of
other things. I am not going to tell you what I use them
for because they are coming in an upcoming video. 10 in a
pack for a dollar, so they are 10 cents each. If you buy
them in a retail store, you are going to spend $4.99, so
buying them in the dollar store is an incredible deal. I
had no idea that they sold them so thatís where I am going
to go to buy them next time I need them. Next product I found was an expandable file
accordion from the dollar store. It has 7 sections just like
this. So you can organize receipts, coupons, stickers and
kind of small paper and be filed away in this. They had
purple, pink, blue and I think yellow so they had a variety
of colors. And itís small enough to keep in your car,
your purse or backpack.
The last thing I found were these over the door door
pockets from the dollar store. They seem a little flimsy;
you can see how thin they are. So I donít think they are
made to hold heavy things like shoes or winter accessories
like an umbrella and stuff. But I would use these to
organize lightweight office supplies or craft supplies
like rubber bands, pipe cleaners, pom-poms, paper clips,
or thumbtacks. Nothing really heavy. Again, a dollar to
maximize your vertical space is a great deal, just donít
put anything too heavy in there. Thatís everything that I have found on my
shopping spree to find affordable organizing solutions. I
hope this video is helpful. If you want more videos like this,
like shopping spree videos, let me know.
