Hello everyone, today we're going to make Mango Salsa. This is another really really
easy recipe, probably the most difficult bit is cubing the mango - so I'm going to show
you how we do that. But first, just to tell you the ingredients, we're going to use a
pinch of salt - sea salt - we're going to use roughly about two tablespoons of chopped
red onion, you could use spring onion too if you want. We're going to use about a handful
of chopped red pepper, we're going to use - that's about a tablespoon - of chopped jalapeño.
Mine's from a jar because I can't find fresh in my area but if you can find fresh you can
use fresh, and then about two tablespoons of lemon juice and some fresh mint.
Right so the first thing we're going to do is cube the mango. This I am going to show
you, although I am going to fast forward a little bit so that it doesn't take too long
for you guys but when you hold the mango, there's this stem, right? This is where it
was snapped off the tree. And what you want to do is you basically want to cut the long
way either side of this, okay, because the seed runs that way, yeah? So you put your
knife, I don't know, like about a quarter of an inch either side, yeah? And then you
just sort of slice - slice lengthways that way, and then you're going to do the same
the other side, yeah? And then you have these two halves, right?
So what you want to do is cut like this lengthwise, yeah? Cut some lines that way okay? And then
cut some lines that way. Just grab your trusty spoon and you scoop out the cubes for your
salsa - same thing with the other one. Well the other one I'm going to be actually doing
this even faster. There we go. Now you have this messy bit here okay? So
what you want to do is just cut around the skin and you hold the seed, you can see the
seed is either side, you can see it's a bit visible, and then you just slide the knife
around outside the seed so that you can get any flesh that's still there, right. And then
you just cube these real quick to add to your sauce.
There we go, there's our cubed mango - and then we just tip in the rest of the ingredients.
So we tip in our fresh mint, our lemon juice, our jalapeño - you might think jalapeño
with mango is a bit weird but it's actually really really nice. Our pepper, our red onion
and last but not least a pinch of salt, and now you know why I have this spoon because
I really don't want to put onions in here. I'm just going to add like a little...right!
And then there you have an absolutely beautifully delicious mango salsa!
