Today we’re unfortunately, having to select some new lumber from the lumberyard. And,
just going over important features that you look for to select a quality board. And, you
always want to sight it down the edge, down the dominant edge to make sure it’s straight.
And then you also want to check for any big knots that may, cause for weakness in the
board or in the structure. And keep an eye out for sap wood, it’s not a good thing
when you’re working with Douglas-fir. So here we’ve got a pretty good board. Sight
it through this dominant edge here. If it has a little bow going this way then you’ll
survive, but straight all around is best.
