The problem is that humans and robots communicate differently
Robots cannot understand natural human speech
Humans, instead, cannot use efficiently fixed requests required by robots
Our solution is a robot with a human-like ability to utilise links between objects and actions
This kind of robot can interpret task-related action and object names as task requests
Four user experiments are used to evaluate the idea
Two are performed with a fully autonomous robot in a planetary exploration work context
Two with a simulated robot in a lander assembly work context
The results show decrease both in the human workload and in the task communication times
The method can facilitate any human-robot communication that includes recurring tasks
Human: "module"
Robot: "Take module"
Human: "Yes"
Robot: "New task, taking the module"
