Hey, guys.
Sydne Summer here of Think Thru Fashion.
Now on today's episode of "Work It," I'm going to show
you how to do an edgy-bold jumpsuit for the office.
Now, I know you're probably looking at your computer
right now and thinking, "This girl is crazy.
There's no way I'm wearing this to the office."
But trust me, with the correct styling, it can be done.
Now, the first step is choosing your jumpsuit.
You want to stick to a basic solid.
Anything too sparkly or with sequins, you'll look like
you're at Studio 54 instead of Conference Room 4.
So, once you have your basic jumpsuit,
obviously you need to cover up.
There's no way I would wear this neckline into work.
But with a cardigan, it makes it all possible.
So, since I'm doing a wider-leg jumpsuit, I'm going to do
a boyfriend cardigan to create an elongated silhouette.
Now, don't be scared of color.
People appreciate when you add brights to the workplace.
But, do remember to keep a cardigan roomy enough that
you can button it to the top, because what we're going to
do here is have the jumpsuit magically turn into
a nice pair of pants.
So, see, when I button it up, I'm hiding this extremely
low neckline, and I'm starting to get a little more
conservative for the office.
Now, the next step would be to belt it.
You know, if we leave it as is, I look incredibly sloppy,
so there's no way we're doing that.
So, I'm going to choose this black padded belt.
Padded is a little dressier, which is great for the
workplace, and the thicker style really helps create an hourglass
silhouette as you cinch your waist, and you're showing off
that you have this womanly figure.
Now, I still have a decent amount of skin on top, so when
it comes to accessories, I'm going to play with necklaces.
So first, I'm choosing this long layer of beads.
I'm going to wrap it around three times.
Now, the trick to necklaces when you're doing layers is,
stick to the same color family.
Because then, you really can't go wrong.
Just play with lengths, and you have the same color family.
So, obviously I'm doing black which is very easy.
I'm going to add one more layer to the mix.
Just snap on this necklace.
And so, you're really covering up the skin by having
all these layers of necklaces.
Next is shoes.
We're going to do the classic work shoe -- the black pump.
Now since I have a wider-leg pant, I'm going to do
a pointier style, that way you can see a bit of the shoe
coming out underneath.
If you do more of a round toe, you might hide the shoe,
and then people will think you're not wearing shoes,
which, obviously that's not okay for the office.
So, we're going to do this pointy toe, which just gives
a little bit of shoe as I walk, it sticks out a little.
It's very classic.
And we just turned edgy-bold for the office.
So, again, with the correct styling, you can make
an edgy-bold jumpsuit go to work.
I hope you enjoyed this episode of "Work It."
