So, after Marvel’s not-so recent event where they revealed their phase 3 lineup, we now
know that Thanos will be the main villain for Avengers 3/3 and a half. And in the short
teaser for those movies, we saw Thanos wielding the Infinity Gauntlet with all the Infinity
Gems aka Stones. So today I wanted to explore where these gems are and how close they are
to being in the possession of this guy. Also, just to clear this up, unless I explicitly
say so, these have not been confirmed by Marvel and are just my speculation. But rest assured
I’m pretty sure these are probably correct. To start off, there are six Infinity Stones
(I know they’re called gems in the comics, but in the movies they’re called Stones,
so I’m sticking with that). The Space stone, mind stone, reality stone, time stone, soul
stone, and power stone. All of these possess remarkable powers related to the word in their
name that comes before stone. First off, the Tesseract. It is the Space Stone, as Red Skull
found out the hard way, when it teleported him somewhere around here-ish. It has the
power to open up portals to other areas in space, probably in other galaxies, so yeah.
Space Stone confirmed. It was put back into Asgardian safety vaults and is in the possession
of Odin. Except, *spoiler alert for Thor: The Dark World* Loki is Odin and therefore
Loki is in possession of the Tesseract and Loki has worked with the Other and the Other
has worked with Thanos. *gasp for air* Whew! The Other, before getting what I like to call
the Man of Steel treatment, warned Loki that Thanos would not be happy if he failed. And
guess what. Loki failed. So what I think is going to happen is that Thanos will eventually
come for Loki, and Loki will work out a trade: in exchange for Thanos not killing him, Loki
will give the Space stone. Then Thanos is going to kill Loki anyway. I’m calling that
now! Next up is the Mind Stone, which I think is
this thing in Loki’s scepter. Some people think that his scepter is simply powered by
the Tesseract, but to those people, just watch the teaser for Infinity War. It shows all
the other Infinity Stones and has the scepter separate from the Tesseract. So it’s definitely
an Infinity Stone. Now, as far as which one, it is seen manipulating people’s minds,
like Hawkeye, Dr. Erik Selvig, and more recently Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch. Currently,
this guy, Baron von Strucker has the scepter, don’t ask me how. In the comics, he works
with HYDRA, who are bad, and Thanos is bad, so maybe they’ll join forces? I don’t
know. Hopefully this one gets resolved in Age of Ultron.
Next up, the Reality Stone is the Aether, as it is seen manipulating reality, creating
portals to different realms and such. Nothing else to say except that it was given to the
Collector at the end of Thor: The Dark World, and based on what happened in Guardians of
the Galaxy, it could be anywhere right now. Hell, maybe Howard the Duck took it. We don’t
know. So yeah, that one could literally be ten thousand light years away, or sitting
right next to you. And the final one that we actually know is
the Power Stone as seen in Guardians of the Galaxy as this thing. And this time Marvel
actually confirmed this. It is seen to be so powerful, that you can’t hold or you’ll
get completely wasted. Unless you’re this Iron Giant looking thing, or a powerful alien
guy, or a group of misfits. It’s confusing, don’t think about it. That stone was originally
just floating around doing whatever but eventually ends up where it is now, which is in the possession
of the Nova Corps, which I guess is pretty safe unless another psycho alien comes and
wants to get it. Then they might be in trouble. As far as the time stone and the soul stone,
we haven’t seen them yet as far as I know, but we we will sometime in phase 3 before
Infinity War, probably in Dr. Strange, Ragnarok, or Guardians 2. They’ll definitely be there
by Infinity War on Thanos’ Infinity Gauntlet. Oh right, the Infinity Gauntlet. Almost forgot
about that. The Infinity Gauntlet is as far as I know
the only way to wield all the Infinity Stones, thus becoming one of the most powerful beings
in the universe. The Gauntlet is in Odin’s vault, but we all know how trustworthy Odin
is with magical items. So yeah Thanos is totally going to get his hands on it in an end credits
scene before Infinity War. So those are what the Infinity Stones are
and how close they are to Thanos. Have I somehow missed the Time and Soul stones? If I have,
feel free to leave an aggressive comment below. Also, while you’re clicking things aggressively,
hit the like button and subscribe to this channel for more videos like the one you just
watched. Also, quick little bit of info for people who are subscribed. A while ago I made
my MCU in Chronological Order video, which was my first video that kind of took off and
got kind of popular, so thank you for that. I’ve gotten a lot of requests to make an
updated version of it, seeing as I didn’t include quite a lot of things. So, here’s
what I’m going to do. I’m gonna wait until Avengers 2 and Ant-Man come out, and then
make an updated version that includes the movies, the TV shows, and the one-shots. It’s
a big task, but I’ll do my best. So, thanks for watching and I’ll see ya next time.
