You've got the passion and you're ready to get gardening but you just don't
have the know-how quite yet. I would suggest let's start small first. Let's start with a container.
Two big tips, when you start with a container you want to make sure it's big enough for the plants
that you're trying to grow,
so I suggest something about 16 inches if you wanna grow veggies or herbs.
And also have a good moisture control potting mix.
That just makes it so much easier. So the best plants, the easiest plants to grow for those beginners
are going to be herbs. So we're going to start off with a nice
basil. This is a nice sweet basil, grows very easily and you'll be able to
harvest things from it. I like growing think that you can use
right away, because not only do they they look nice in a pot
but it gives you a reason to come back and check it out from time to time.
Another easy plant to put in
is going to be a pepper. And peppers are good because they provide you with
something to come harvest as well, so
it gives you a reason to come out and check your pot, you actually get some nutrition
out of it too.
It's a good deal, and it's easy to grow in this container. But,
don't just have an edible container always put things in
that look ornamental as well. So we're going to throw a few flowers in.
Gonna pop them right out of the pots. Simple as that when you see them in the pot,
if the roots are tangled, simply put them down and out. That's all you have to do.
You just don't want them growing in that circle.
Very easy to do. Just pop them out and we'll put him back down in here.
Grab another that dump it out,
really quickly to do. Look see this? Pull them out.
Good! And the last thing I want to do
is put a flower right in the center, something to kind of capture
a little bit more of the color that is going on in here.
Make it good to look at today, and great to look at tomorrow.
We'll throw in daisy right in the center.
So now we've got a full pot that is going to provide us
with herbs, beauty and color, anyone can do this. Very simple. The pot is going to last for
quite a while.
Finishing touches are just to add a little bit more soil to make sure all the root balls
also covered up,
and this is something that anyone can do today in a few minutes. Go
out and pick you some plants,
get you a nice container, and you, even beginner,
can have a beautiful ornamental collection a plants that's going to provide
herbs and food. But you say "hey, I've done this before,
I'm a professional I know how to garden" well then, follow me.
