Tokio Hotel - Interview @nrj music awards - 2008

How does it feel do be nominated? We are very happy and most of all, very excited, it's such a huge thing for us. The guys (of the band) have been there last year, but I was unfortunately not there, they told me a lot of things about it, that it was great, so yes, we are very happy to be nominated and to play on stage here in France. What about French fans? It's actually thanks to them that we have been nominated. We didn't except such a great thing, we will compete with all those huge artists tomorrow thanks to them. We had also some good times during the tour last year, we had some great shows and we will tour in Europe this year. We are glad to be back and we will have some good times and we are so happy to be at the NRJ Music Awards. How do you explain your success? Bill handed me the microphone for a specific reason because it's mainly thanks to me. It's just... Well, okay, I can't say it's all thanks to me but honestly when I see the three others guys, I'm like "No no, no way, impossible" and when I look in the mirror, I'm like "Why not? It's probably thanks to me" Seriously, we have been looking for answers for a long time, Why 3 weird dudes and a dude a bit less weird (me) coming from Magdeburg who play music together? And we honestly don't know why we are so successful, we have no magic recipe and no explanation. What about your performance for the NRJ Music Awards? We have obviously thought about something and we can't talk about it yet because we want to keep it secret, until now we have rehearsed just once and it didn't work out that well so we think it will be a sort of surprise and we hope it will work out well, we will see tomorrow. You are playing at Paris des Princes in Paris on June the 20th I can reveal a surprise, Georg will be naked during the whole concert but he will still wear his socks... Seriously, we are of course preparing many things, we are currently working on the stage design, the Parc des Princes is such a great and huge thing for us. It will probably be something unforgettable and we can't wait to be there, we will do a lot of great things and there is less than 6 months to go.
