Evidence Base Treatment
What I would say in my own words would be...
A way from an Audiologist and our role
And our practice
Is to, to look at a certain issue to address
Whether that be hearing balance or tinnitus
To look at the gambit of things to help that person
From an assessment standpoint
To assess the hearing, balance or tinnitus
To look at the solutions to help that person
Evidence based assesments or research would be
In the general terms would be
Looking at the solutions and finding what
What evidence or research is behind that piece of equipment
Or device that would help this certain issue
Such as Neuromonics with their sound um
With their sound treatment options
With the neuromonics unit to contol tinnitus
How many patients have they used it with that
We have seen success?
With a hearing instrument
How do patients hear a noise?
How do they hear on the telephone?
How do they hear with soft speech?
So we look at from a research standing
Evidence base would be looking at
What do the labs say
That is successful in helping
As well as we as the clinican
As an Audiologist
How do we feel we are helping our patients
