Today I am going to show you how to get to the
Texas DPS online application for the concealed handgun license.

The easiest way to do that is go to a search engine and you simply type in "Texas DPS"
As you can see the top item found is the
Texas Department of Public Safety website.
click on that. your page looks like this, there are several links on this page what you
want is up in the right hand corner where it says concealed handgun
and click concealed handgun
then the menu switch over, the menu should be here on the left and side
you going to go to licensing and registration and
you are not going to click, just scroll mouse
over that then role mouse down to applicant information
you click applicant information look here in licensee information
the TX online concealed handgun license that is the link that you want
and click that it is going to take you to another website
this website here is the concealed handgun license application
you can see here there is a list of documents that you'll need to fill this for out
as you scroll down here you have new users
and returning users if you are filling out your application for your initial license
or you're filling out your application for renewal
you will use new user
the returning user is after you fill out your application
you can come back and check the status of the application see how your
background checks going et cetera
we are going to click apply no wait for a moment here as the
application pulls up and the first thing its gonna do is ask you to authenticate
that you are from Texas or that you have the proper identification
you are either going to check Texas driver's license or Texas ID card
you type in your driver's license number your social security number
your date of birth and your Texas driver's license audit number
the audit number is simply that super long
16 or 18 digit code that is not your driver's license number
you will find it on the bottom of your driver's license in fine print
after you do that you click Continue
