-When I started, I had no idea I was gonna fall in love with you. It was real. ILENE CHAIKEN: Cookie ends the first part of the season having lost something really important to her. And now, the future is uncertain. Cookie's relationship with Jamal, which was always the core relationship, she's finally repaired. She also worked very hard to build a relationship with Hakeem, and they've been so close. It was such a hard-won relationship. But Hakeem just did something that is kind of betrayal to Cookie, and yet he did with the understanding that it's what they both wanted. They've got a lot to reckon with. Hey, Hakeem. ILENE CHAIKEN: Cookie and Andre have become close because Andre has finally found his faith and realized that he doesn't need to be treacherous in order to succeed. And Cookie has supported him in a really maternal way. I've done horrible things. So have I, Dre. But we are good people. God know your heart. Now keep your mouth shut. Cookie seeing Lucious lose Empire brings her closer to Lucious. And as we end this first half of the season, she and Lucious are united in their conviction that they have to get Empire back and get these usurpers out of their kingdom.
