Triangle pose is a wonderful pose to strengthen the legs, to open the hips, to open the hips
and to improve your balance and flexibility. So, you’ll want to start by standing in
mountain pose and then stepping the right foot about three feet behind you, and then
angling the right foot about thirty degrees, the front foot is facing forward, we’re
going to line up the front heal with the back arch, the front knee is pointing directly
forward, so the front knee is tracking in the same direction as your big toe on your
left foot. And then turning your heart open toward the side, scoop the tailbone slightly
so it’s facing toward the floor as the heart lifts. Inhaling, take the arms out to the
side and as your exhale reach your heart over your front leg and then take your left hand
either down to a block or your calf, and then reach the top arm directly toward the ceiling.
And starting by looking down at the floor, you can also choose to look out at the horizon
or up toward your right fingers if your balance is feeling pretty steady. To come out of triangle
pose you’ll want to look down at your left foot, inhale, pull yourself out to your right
arm, bringing your arms perpendicular to the floor and releasing your arms to your sides,
turning your back heal and stepping forward and then taking the other side.
