Why Do People Rent in The Hamptons Each Year?

I think the primary reason that people rent in the Hamptons is they can get a good idea
of which town they like. They can find out how much traffic they can withstand in the
summertime. I have a lot of rental people that won't go any further than Southampton.
It's as far as they can stand being in the car. I have other people that want to go all
the way out to Montauk. They want to go the furthest that they can go to have the beauty
of the beach. So I think people use those rentals to try to really figure out where
they might want to buy if they do buy. I think the other reason why people rent in the Hamptons
is they want to be part of the scene. It's where everyone wants to be in the summer if
you are from the tri-state area. I call it -- it's our Riviera. The Hamptons is our version
of the Riviera.
