CDigital Scans Newspaper Of The Universal

On October El universal celebrates its 95th anniversary and to commemorate it has digitized the valuable newspaper library that protects since 1916. From 1916 to 2002 we did not have this digitized collection. We had to do manual searches or on microfilm Now we are facilitating the work for both local and foreign researchers and for us obviously internal consumption. We are talking about a newspaper library. one of the most comprehensive within Mexico capital's newspapers and then it is just urgent that we preserve it. Now. time and modern periodicals systems forces us to digitize the collection any paper kind will be dehydrated over time turning yellow. then that forces us To preserve it before it will be unmanageable or the ink deleted. The technology and company to digitize the newspaper archives was not easily to choose The paper qualities and the quality of the results in order to convey the essence of each page was an indispensable factor It was something interesting. we had here twelve national and foreign suppliers obviously we went for quality Some of them even wanted to take the archives to Europe or the United States Logistically it was an adventure involving risks to the newspaper library so we decided to do the digitizing here Fortunately it was a Mexican supplier who offered us a wonderful technique of photography that allows recovering the natural color of the newspaper archives without being mistreat. We started on October to prepare the environment. the lights We verified the size of the tomes for the structures to exact fit the width and length as needed we expurgated the tomes once the tome was clean we proceeded to upload year by year for the project convenience we decided to start from 2002 to 1916 year. The first part consist in taking the photos We store them in folders on a hard disk and send them to Saltillo. He received our reporter named Regino Hernandez Llergo in June 1922.
