My name is Hessel van Oorschot
And my SPARK is
applying open source concepts
and licensing models on a closed industry
the music industry.
I am the CEO and co-founder
of Tribe of Noise
the online music community connecting
composers, songwriters and musicians
with businesses.
The reason we started Tribe of Noise
was based on a very basic need.
We were working on a video production,
in need for some great music,
and run into a very traditional,
non flexible music licensing industry.
How difficult would it be
to come up with a model where
musicians can connect directly
with businesses in need for great music!
From the first moment on
we were convinced to start with
musicians on one side
business clients on the other side
and have a close look at the
necessity of the traditional "middle men".
Rethinking the business model from scratch
means we can add value to the music industry.
The added value for musicians?
First of all we are Tribe of NOISE
so we will help you to gain exposure: NOISE
and secondly,
since we shorten the value chain
the percentage of the revenue we share
is much higher than artists traditionally would get.
Every single song sent to us by a musician
will be listened to and tagged by a human being.
Tagged by our professionals, for instance
perfect to sync with a game,
video production, brand campaign,
or license to a retail store.
The tagging procedure by our pro team
allows customers to search our database with ease.
We have some great business cases
like the one for a Dutch chain of jewelry stores.
They are broadcasting our music in their stores
and besides the money generated
they facilitate a new "stage" for our artists.
We are the missing link between
companies who say it's difficult
to team up with artists directly,
and musicians who need some coaching.
Teaching them it's not just about fans,
or selling some merchandise at a gig.
But think again!
your music adds value to commercial projects like
music in video productions, advertisements, games..
and that's exactly the reason..
to team up with Tribe of Noise!
