In addition to waiting in line and security, it's important for you to stay up on the latest aviation security requirements at airports. These are constantly changing as time goes by. A lot of things that were not permissible a couple of years ago are now fine; a couple of things which were okay a couple of years ago are now not. You don't want to get a rude shock when at the airport when you realize that suddenly something very valuable to you can't be carried on to the plane and you don't have time to go back for the baggage check, so make sure to stay up on the security requirements and just make it as painless as possible to get through security and meet the latest requirements to fly. The Department Of Homeland Security, The Transportation Security Administration, specifically within The Department Of Homeland Security, has a lot of these latest security standards on the Web site, which they're updating on a semi-frequently basis. So definitely check out that Web site, it's a good source of information to keep up on the latest security standards.
