Patients often ask me how to store their hearing aid batteries.
Hearing aid batteries should be stored in a cool dry place, not in a refrigerator. The
moisture of the refrigerator will do damage to the batteries and they won’t last as
long. So putting them in the dresser drawer is probably the best place that you can store
them.
Secondly, batteries should have a chance to air out and when you activate the battery
by pulling off the small tab, it allows oxygen to filter through the battery and will extend
the battery life for you.
