SARAH HAUER: Hi. I'm Sarah Hauer. SIG HAUER: And I'm Sig Hauer, and we're professional
practitioners of traditional Chinese medicine. SARAH HAUER: We're here on behalf of Expert
Village. SIG HAUER: And welcome to our video. SARAH HAUER: So when it comes to food, this
is one the areas where we find that people are the most confused. There are so many fad
diets and special diets out there that some people do well on but most people don't do
well on long term. What we work with people with nutrition is a very fundamental approach.
In Chinese nutrition, Chinese foods have different energetics and we match these energetics with
your diagnostic pattern that will help to support you, your constitution and your stress
level as well. Some people can tolerate a little bit of caffeine from teas and other
constitutions don't do well at all. So we individualize your nutrition program as well
with you, but I want to emphasize that, for us, food is a very personal for every person.
It's a very personal subject and we do not approach it with a mood of depravation. Food
should be something that is enjoyed. It's a way we nurture ourselves. It should be a
very pleasure experience. And in the United States, we've gotten so far away from our
food sources sometimes we don't know what we're eating. So it's very important for us
to help people connect with food, help people find the relationship of enjoyment again with
food instead of feeling overwhelmed, confused and helpless.
