Kailas: Hi, my name's Kailas, I'm the Director of Central Desert Training. As an
organisation we work to upskill Aboriginal people to meet the requirements of the workplace.
We use the Telstra Mobile Wi-Fi to keep our communications open with all of our staff.
We have team members working in different locations across the Territory and the Telstra
Mobile Wi-Fi allows those team members to maintain communication and be part of our
team.
They're able to send their emails, check their reports, pick up files off the server,
so if there's something that's gone out or someone needs to pick a particular document
up that they may not have with them they can use the Wi-Fi device to hook into our system
and get the file off our server.
The Mobile Wi-Fi that we use works at locations like Mutujulu, which is about 500 kilometres
this way. It works at Yuendumu, which is about 350 this way. Works at Katherine, which is
about 1200 this way.
In terms of benefits to our organisation and how we operate, I don't think we would be
able to do what we do in many ways without the device. We're totally reliant upon the
Telstra Network and what it's able to do for us. For our business and what we do it's
essential. We can't work without being mobile and having Mobile Wi-Fi.
