Faces of Weatherization - Indiana Non-Profit Housing, Florida
Darryl Tripp: The good stories I think,
particularly filter down to the employees as well as the
homeowners themselves. It’s allowed us to build jobs and
thousands of people, and also do something well at the same time.
Josh Tripp: Most clients that we deal with, they have very old air conditioners, and they’re not very
efficient at all. We did a lady’s house in Vera Beach. She was 92 years old
and had been sleeping out on the front porch for the last 3 months. She hadn’t had an air conditioner in a
year. That was in the heat of August. After we left,
she was teared up. It moves you. It makes you feel really
happy with what you’ve got at the house. Dylan Fogleman: When I first started,
I started doing inspections. We had a lady, she was blind. This
was a final inspection, we’ve already done all the work, and she was running around the house
screaming, as happy as can be. She couldn’t see what we had done, but she could notice the difference,
and how she could feel the difference in the house. It was just crazy seeing her be so happy
and knowing she felt the difference without seeing it. It really shows
that it works.
