What is the fastest way to cure a hangover?
They’ve found that carbonated water like club soda eases hangover symptoms. Lemon-lime
soda that contains fruit juice and vitamin C is even better.
There are hangover cures sold online and in the store. Which one works the best?
Their greatest benefit is the placebo effect. You think it helps, so it does.
Aspirin and orange juice is a classic hangover cure.
Orange juice has vitamin C and rehydrates you. Aspirin is a pain reliever.
If aspirin is good, then Excedrin or Tylenol is better.
Tylenol plus alcohol is the most common cause of poisoning in the U.S. Your body can handle
one or the other but not both.
What else would cure a hangover fast?
Don’t drink to excess in the first place. And you can’t get a hangover if you don’t
drink alcohol at all.
I don’t want to go teetotaler. What is another option?
Drink lots of water while you’re drinking alcohol, to reduce the dehydration it causes.
Eat food along with the alcohol to slow its absorption and the effects.
I’ve heard that drinking coffee helps.
Coffee may make you feel alert and awake, but caffeine can actually worsen headaches
and dehydrates you further.
I could drink more alcohol. Though obviously I shouldn’t put alcohol in the coffee to
feel better.
That worsens the liver damage and the effects of the alcohol. It offers a little, quick
pain relief and a much longer withdrawal.
The Polish drink pickle juice.
While that has some nutrients and electrolytes, a more palatable option is a sports drink.
And you don’t come home smelling like you fell into a pickle vat or tried to hide the
scent of last night’s date by wiping pickled eggs on your clothes.
Does eating a steak for breakfast help?
High protein foods help your body break down the alcohol, yes. But sleeping it off, letting
your body rid itself of toxins, also works.
