A woman who accompanied a man to his room at the Standard Hotel in Greenwich Village stole a diamond engagement ring from him before slipping out, police said Monday.

The hapless 43-year-old man had just met the femme fatale at the swanky four-star hotel on Washington St. by 13th St. when she sashayed off with the ring around 4 a.m. on March 17, authorities said.
Police described the jewel thief as black, about 5-foot-2, 120 pounds and with black hair.
