Tumamao Harawira now joins us for the sports round-up.
All Blacks vs Springboks - 90,000-strong Soweto crowd
is expected to turn up.
Is it going to be a problem for our team?
Maybe.
There has been talk that
the South African team
are notching it up a level
for this game.
I don't believe that.
I think the ABs are untouchable;
the rest of the world's teams are barely reaching the same levels.
So I'm going to say the ABs will take it out.
Hosea Gear is in for Julian Savea – do you agree with the change?
I agree on the side that relates to him being Maori,
but in terms of talent?
Savea is one of the newest stars in the game,
and I don't really agree with Steve Hansen's decision
to rest him for this week.
In my opinion, he's got the skills.
It's not that he's a lazy player, but it doesn't seem like
Hosea is immersing himself into the game plan.
He needs to work harder, right?
That's right.
Savea is following in Gear's footsteps.
The two are a little bit similar,
so for me, Gear needs to step it up,
otherwise take him out.
The NZ Breakers kicks off the ANBL season opener
against Perth tonight.
What do you think of their chances in this year's league?
Will they make it to the top again?
That's the hope, but you know what they say about teams at the top,
there's only one way to go.
So that's the biggest challenge for the Breakers this year —
to remain at the top and retain their title.
We were talking about the NBA before this.
Did you want to tell our audience about your big prediction?
This year in the NBA league, the LA Lakers will win.
Why?
Take a look at their new players. There's Steve Nash, Dwight Howard —
those two are exceptional players.
People are saying there's a new Shaq in the LA Lakers.
That's big praise seeing that
Dwight Howard's former team is the Orlando Magics,
and we know that also used to be Shaq's old team.
So I fully believe in the LA Lakers.
Tumamao Harawira, thank you for joining us.
